Current Residence:  Hermiston, Oregon

 

Biography:  Graduate of Hermiston High School 2000.  Attended Ricks College.  Ran Cross Country and Track for Ricks College.  Spent two years in Panama as a service missionary.  Attended BYU Hawaii.  Ran Cross Country.  Graduated with a degree in International Cultural Studies.  Currently teaching English and PE and coaching cross country and track at Hermiston High School.  Married to Jen Puzey.  Son – Cairo Ezekiel Puzey

 

Motivation for running/competing:  I love challenging myself and I love meeting others who like to challenge themselves.  I also love to share this passion with others.      

 

Career Highlights:  Member of 2000 and 2001 NJCAA National Champion Cross Country Teams.

 

Age group winner in Salt Lake City Marathon 2004.

 

BYUH School record holder in road and cross country 5Ks.

 

Number 2 all time fastest 8K at BYUH.

 

5th Place at Hawaii Telcom’s Great Aloha Run, First amateur American – 2005

 

3rd Place at Hawaii Telcom’s Great Aloha Run, First amateur American – 2006

 

3rd Place at Hawaii Telcom’s Great Aloha Run, First American - 2007

 

Coached Kahuku High School track teams to 3rd and 1st place finishes at the Hawaii State Track Meet.

 

Top American at Honolulu Marathon 2006.   

 

Coached 2 athletes to 3 state titles in the 2007 OSAA State Track Meet.

 

Team captain of 2007 Mt. Rainier to Pacific Relay champions.

 

Team member of 2007 Ragnar Northwest Passage Relay champions.

 

 

Goals:  Coach at least one state championship team each year for the next five years.  Help my athletes get into college.  Run 2:15 in the marathon.  Qualify for the Olympic Trials in the Marathon.  Help my wife get there too.
