Eastside Track Club Starts Cross Country Season August 27
The Eastside will kick off the 2005 Cross Country season at the 1st annual Jimmy Driscoll Invitational on August 27, in Boise ID. Jimmy Driscoll was Pat McCurry’s high school track and field coach at Bishop Kelly High School. |

Griffiths Wins Race in Colorado
Fort Collins CO, August 6— Eric Griffiths got his first win as a post collegian in 22nd annual Human Race 5k in 15:17.

McCurry 1st, Williams 2nd, Kinch 6th at Jimmy Driscoll Invite
Boise ID, August 27— Pat McCurry honored his late high school coach by winning the open race of the Jimmy Driscoll Invitational. Pat made a great move at 2k, creating a gap and holding it over rough ground all the way to the finish covering the 5k course in 16:05. Sean Williams finished behind McCurry in 2nd place in 16:19 after pulling away from NCAA III champ Nick Symonds over the last half of the race. Dallas Kinch returned to competition after injuries to both heals, finishing 6th place in 18:45. A small number of Eastside athletes will be in action on September 10 at the NNU invitational, and most of the team will be gunning for the title at the Willamette Invite on October 1. |

Jones, Barker-McCurry, and Williams All in Top 10 At NNU Invite Nampa ID, September 10— On a perfect day to run cross country all three of the Eastside Track Club members competing in the meet finished in the top 10 of their races. Starting the day off in the womens 4k Kelsey Jones finished 3rd in 14:39, and Andrija Barker-McCurry finished 9th in 15:08. Kelsey and Andrija both ran tremendous races moving up several spots in second half of the race. In the next race, the mens 6k, Sean Williams finished 5th in 18:44. This was a good effort for Sean. He went out with the leaders, hesitated slightly and ended up running completely by himself for the last 5k of the race. Next up for the Eastside Track Club is the Willamette Invitational on October 1. |

Eastside Men and Women Win Team Titles At Willamette Invite
Salem OR, October 1— On a cool, wet day and a rain soaked course the Eastside Track Club took a big step in the right direction by sweeping the team titles in the open/club division of the Willamette Invitational. The men’s team turned in many good performances on the “chewed up course” and edged out Team XO by 10 points with a tight pack. Tim Riley lead the way finishing eighth in 24:57. He was closely followed by Eric Griffiths in 25:04, Pat McCurry 25:05, and Sean Williams in 25:13 in the 9th, 10th, and 16th spots. Mike Anderson sealed the win by finishing 53rd in 26:19. Other members competing in the meet were, Ben Gall 67th (26:40), Ian Schroeder 79th (26:56), Dave Terry 114th (28:43), Dallas Kinch 125th (29:16) and Snake Ulrich 151 (31:23). The Women’s team followed the men’s win with one of there own, beating Chico State’s “B” team by 41 points. This is a very impressive win as Chico State is one of the top programs in NCAA Division II. Similar to the men, the women also had 4 runners make the awards presentation. Kelsey Jones finished 4th 18:08 to lead the way with Amy Hooks 9th (18:58), Andrija Barker-McCurry 11th (19:01), and Lindsey Ulrich 17th (19:21) close behind. Jessyca Barker rounded out the scoring finishing 47th in 20:44, and “Sister Ulrich”, aka Kari McElroy also ran on the team finishing 70th in 21:55.

Crowl, Kinch, and Jones Compete In ‘Yote Open
Caldwell ID, October 22— The Eastside Track Club had another strong showing this fall as Brian Crowl, Dallas Kinch, and Kelsey Jones competed in the Albertson College ‘Yote Open on Saturday. In his first race back from a knee injury Brian Crowl finished 10th in the men’s race covering the 8k course in 26:38. Dallas Kinch continues to show improvement with his 19th place finish in 27:43, one minute and thirty seconds faster than his performance at Willamette three weeks ago. In the women’s race Kelsey Jones finished 2nd behind Greater Boise’s Cynthia Mauzerall in 18:38. |

McCurry Wins City of Trees Marathon, Jones Wins Half Marathon
Boise ID, November 6— Pat McCurry won the City of Trees Marathon in 2:36:28.0, in his first ever marathon. He started out conservatively, caught the leaders by 14.5 miles, fought through a chronic side injury and pulled away to win by nearly six minutes. Kelsey Jones competed in the half marathon race, winning the women’s race in 1:23:42.4, and was third overall. |

Griffiths Competes in USATF Club Championships
Rochester NY, November 19— The Eastside Track Club wasn’t able to compete as a team this year at the USATF XC Club Championships, but that didn’t stop Eric Griffiths. Eric made the trip to New York by himself to compete in the race and finished 72nd place and covering the 10k course in 32:05. |

Eastsiders Compete Across Country On Thanksgiving Day
November 24— Six members of the Eastside Track Club competed in Turkey Trots in four different states on Thanksgiving morning. Leading off the day in Cape Coral Florida, Mike Anderson and Snake Ulrich competed in the 26th annual Turkey Trot. Anderson finished 5th covering the 5k course in 16:27 and Ulrich finished in 19:47 despite stomach problems a mile into the race. In Austin Texas Dallas Kinch competed in the 15th annual Thunder Cloud Turkey Trot 5 Mile finishing 10th in 28:05. Next up in Ft. Collins Colorado Eric Griffiths and Pat McCurry competed in the Pedersen's Volvo Fort Collins Thanksgiving Day Four Mile Race. Griffiths finished 9th in 20:18 and Pat McCurry finished 11th in 20:23. Pat Egelus rounded out the day for the Eastside Track Club competing in a 4 mile turkey trot in Anchorage Alaska, which had very cold and icy conditions. Egelus finished 4th in 23:42. Overall it was a very impressive day for the Eastsiders. |

Williams Wins Cable Bridge Run, McElroy Finishes 6th in Division
Kennewick & Pasco WA, December 17— The Cable Bridge Run went off for the 27th time on Saturday and two Eastside athletes were among 1200+ finishers with temperatures in the low 20’s. Sean Williams had a good performance winning the men’s 5k race in 17:56, and overcame a break of over 2:00 in the race due to an untimely train when nearly 100 runners bunched back up for the “second start” of the race. Kari McElroy also competed in the race finishing 14th in the women’s 10k and 6th in her age group, which was the most competitive of the race. She finished the race with a time of 49:00. |

McCurry, Jones Win YMCA Christmas Run, Crowl Finishes Second
Boise ID, December 17— The Eastside Track Club dominated the YMCA 6.1 mile Christmas run in Boise Idaho on Saturday sweeping the top spot in both races and also getting the second spot in the men’s race. Pat McCurry used a strong second half to take the top spot in men’s race with a time of 31:29. Brian Crowl, who continues to improve quickly after an injury this summer, ran strong to finish 2nd in a time of 32:02. In the women’s race Kelsey Jones completely dominated winning in a time of 36:04. Not only was she the top female, but she also finished 5th or 6th overall in the race. |

Eastsiders Compete Well At Hampton Inn & Suites Classic
Nampa ID, January 21— Three members of the Eastside Track Club opened up their indoor season with good performances at the Hampton Inn & Suites Classic hosted by Boise State University. On the women’s side Kelsey Jones finished 6th in the Mile run with a time of 5:14.46. On the men’s side Tim Riley finished 3rd in the Mile run with a time of 4:20.36, and Sean Williams finished 2nd in the 3000m run in 8:46.69. Next weekend Kelsey Jones and Tim Riley will be in action in Seattle at the UW Invitational. |

Jones and Riley Run Personal Bests At UW Invitational
Seattle WA, January 28— Kelsey Jones and Tim Riley made the trip to Seattle for the UW Invitational and they both came away with 3000m lifetime best. Kelsey lead off running a great race, bettering her previous time by 17 seconds and finished 10th over all in 10:04.39. Shortly afterwards Tim followed suit and chopped 2 seconds of his best time crossing the line in 8:28.79. Next weekend members of the Eastside Track Club will be in Nampa Idaho competing in the United Heritage Invite.

Jones and Williams Compete At United Heritage Invite
Nampa Idaho, February 3 - 4— Kelsey Jones and Sean Williams represented the Eastside Track Club at the United Heritage Invite. Kelsey finished 2nd in the mile with a lifetime best of 5:12.60. She lead a lot of the race and did most of the work before getting out kicked in the last 200m. Sean had an off day in the mile finishing 3rd in 4:22.4, but then came back well in the 800m winning his heat in 2:00.35. Eastside members Ben Gall and Brian Crowl participated on the Crusader Track Club’s DMR team that ran 10:51.54. |

Ulrich Family Competes In Manatee’s Run For Kids
Ft. Meyers Florida, February 11— The Eastside Track Club was in action on the East Coast as the Ulrich family competed in the Manatee’s Run For Kids 5k, and they fared well. Lindsey was first in the female division with a winning time of 19:45. Snake finished 4th overall and second in his age group in 19:16 despite fish being dropped on the path as the group was approaching. Samuel did not compete in the race, but he was there supporting his parents. |

Eastsiders Compete Well In Two Meets At U of Idaho
February 17 & 18, Moscow Idaho— Three members of the Eastside Track Club were in action this past weekend at the University of Idaho. On Friday night Tim Riley competed in Vandal Indoor finishing 3rd with a time of 4:24.51. Tim negative split the race after the entire field ran a slow first 800m. On Saturday Pat McCurry and Sean Williams were in action for the McDonalds Open. Pat finished 2nd in the 5000m in 15:17.42, with his primary focus of the race was helping to pace two of his athletes from Albertson College. Sean competed in the mile and won the race in 4:22.50 with a strong second half. He then ran the 1000m race to help out a couple of athletes from Eastern Oregon University, and finished second in that race. Across the country in Key West Florida the Ulrich family was in action as well. Lindsey was the first female and 7th finisher overall covering the 5k course in 19:18, and Snake was 8th overall and 2nd in his age group in 19:28. |

Ulrich’s Run Well In Swamp Stomp 5k
February 25, Labelle Florida— The Ulrich family was in action again this weekend at the Swamp Stomp 5k. Snake was moving up well for the first two miles of the race until he ran out of people in the pack, with the next group 300 yards up. He hung on to win his age group in 19:18. Despite battling Bronchitis Lindsey once again was the first female across the finish line with a time of 19:35. This is Lindsey’s third straight race being the first female finisher. Next weekend many Eastsiders will wind up their indoor seasons at the University of Washington’s last chance meet. |

Eastsider’s End Indoor Season With Good Performances
March 4, Seattle Washington— Three members of the Eastside Track Club made the trip to Seattle trying to run fast times to close out the indoor season. Kelsey Jones finished 4th in the 3000m in 10:14, running the entire race by herself because over half of the field didn’t show up. Sean Williams and Pat McCurry competed in the men’s 3000m. Williams finished 7th in 8:23, a 9 second personal best. McCurry finished with a time of 8:38. |

Ulrich Competes In Spring Festival 4 Miler
March 25, LeHigh Acres Florida— Lindsey Ulrich competed in the Spring Festival 4 Miler this past weekend in LeHigh Acres Florida. She ran well with fairly consistent mile splits for a longer race than she is used to. She finished with a time of 24:35.17 witch was good enough to win her age group and finish 9th out of 129 runners. |

Jones Wins 5k With Big PR At Willamette Invite, Crowl Wins 5K At NNU
Salem OR, April 7— Kelsey Jones ran a great race to win the Willamette Invite Celebration of Distance 5000m. Taking the lead near the halfway mark and distancing the field to win in 17:21.70. Her winning time was a 14 second personal best. In his first 5000m on the track in 3 years Sean Williams finished 4th in a time of 14:48.44. Leading much of the first 2 plus miles of the race he couldn’t quite cover the decisive move at 1500m.
Nampa ID, April 8— Two Eastsiders were in action at the Northwest Nazarene Invite Saturday. Brian Crowl won the men’s 5000m with a time of 15:53.72. Also competing in the meet was Andrija Barker-McCurry who finished 4th in the women’s 1500m with a time of 5:00.24. This was Andrija’s first ever race on the track, a very impressive debut. |

McCurry Finishes 3rd, Crowl 6th at Robie Creek
Boise ID, April 15— Pat McCurry returned to defend his title and Brian Crowl made his debut in the Robie Creek half marathon. The course which climbs 8 1/2 miles up a mountain before finishing down the back side can break even the strongest runners. Pat wasn’t able to defend his title, but he still had a good outing finishing 3rd in 1:19. Brian was able to survive to finish 6th in 1:25. The race was won by Travis Armstrong of Greater Boise Running Club in 1:18. Competing in her first race in the Eastside uniform Amy Robillard won the women’s race in 1:29:12. She won by 1:23. |

Jones Run’s Two Personal Bests At Oregon Invite
Eugene OR, April 21-22— Kelsey Jones had a great weekend at the Oregon Invite. On Friday night she ran a 14 second lifetime best in the 5000m finishing 12th in 17:07.52. She then came back Saturday morning to run a 4 second lifetime best in the 1500m of 4:47.45 to finish 7th in the B section. Sean Williams also competed for the Eastside Track Club at the Oregon Invite finishing 2nd in the 1500m B section in a Season’s best time of 3:55.65 |

Ulrich third In Florida Race
Ft. Meyers, April 15— Lindsay Ulrich competed in the 9th annual Do The Right Thing Eggs and Ears 5k in Ft. Meyers Florida. She finished 3rd in the race with a time of 18:17. She also won her age group. |

Jones, Barker-McCurry Run 1500m Personal Bests At BSU
Boise ID, April 28— At the YMCA Invitational hosted by Boise State University Kelsey Jones and Andrija Barker-McCurry both ran lifetime bests in the 1500m race. Kelsey Jones won the race in 4:42.18 and ran a PR for the second week in a row. She has dropped 9 seconds off her personal best in two weeks. In Just her second track race Andrija Barker-McCurry broke five minutes finishing 7th in 4:59.40, shaving almost a second off her personal best. |

Egelus Competes In Heart Run
Anchorage Alaska, April 29— Pat Egelus competed in the heart run in Anchorage Alaska on Saturday, one of his first races while attempting to get back in shape finishing in 17:23. He got out well through the mile, and close well the last half mile. In the middle there wasn’t anyone to race with. According to Pat “some things went well, some things could have gone better.” |

Jones, Williams Compete At Oregon Twilight
Eugene Oregon, May 5— Eastsiders Kelsey Jones and Sean Williams were on the track last night at the Oregon Twilight meet. In the women’s 5000m, the field was sparce forcing Kelsey to get out hard to have people to run with. She couldn’t quite hold it, but was able to run her second best time ever finishing 4th in 17:16.37. The men’s 1500m was one of the better fields of the meet and Sean Williams held tough with the pack finishing 11th in a season best time of 3:54.06 after fading the last 100. |
