Eastsiders Do 13:40 Run
Meridian Idaho, December 2— Members of the Eastside Track Club kicked off the holiday season and tuned up for next weekends USATF Club Championships with the annual 13:40 run. The goal of the run is to cover as much distance as possible in 13:40. The time of 13:40 is a tribute to Olympian Rod DeHaven as his 5k pr is 13:40. The runners finished in t he following order; Pat McCurry, Mike Anderson, Brian Crowl, Kelsey Jones, Andrija Barker-McCurry, Tim Riley*, and Carrie Jones. John Calovich was the official time keeper and he did an outstanding job.
*Riley did the run in Pullman Washington synchronized with the official time. |

Eastside Track Club Competes In USATF Club XC Championships
San Francisco California, December 9— Ten members of the Eastside Track Club journeyed to San Francisco to compete in the USATF Club Cross Country Championships. Both teams competed well in the muddy conditions, but didn’t have the races they were hoping for. The women’s team finished 23rd out of 28 teams, after having to find a last minute replacement for Amy Robillard. Shannon Edwards lead the way on the 6k course finishing 113th in 22:52. Andrija Barker-McCurry was close behind in 129th in 23:09. Lindsey Ulrich and Kelsey Jones finished 155th and 179th in 23:36 and 24:00 respectively. Amy Conant filled in for Robillard and finished 225th in 26:02. There were 248 finishers in the women’s open race. The men’s also had the minimum of 5 athletes necessary to score as a team and finished 30th out of 42 teams. Many of the members have not run many 10k’s cross country in the lack of confidence showed. Sean Williams was first across the line finishing 98th in 32:38. New Eastsider Rusty McRea had the best race of the day finishing 138th in 33:33. Mike Anderson finished 211th in 34:47, while Ian Schroeder and Dallas Kinch finished 255th and 287th in 35:54 and 37:27 respectively. |

Three Eastsiders Compete At YMCA Christmas Run
Boise Idaho, December 23— Three members of the Eastside Track Club competed in the YMCA Christmas run in Boise. The 6.1 mile course includes a long hard climb the first half followed by a steep decent and flat finish. The course was extra challenging this year as there was ice, snow, slush, and mud for the athletes to traverse. Brian Crowl was the overall winner of the race in 32:55, while Tracy Harris finished 5th in 35:55. This is the third year in a row that an Eastsider has won the race. Crowl also won in 2004, while Pat McCurry won in 2005. On the women’s side Katlin Cauffman finished 3rd in 42:39.

Schroeder Wins Race At Warner Pacific
Portland Oregon, April 20— Ian Schroeder continued his comeback from injury at the Warner Pacific Mini Meet. It is going well, as he won the 1500m in 4:06.96. |

Eastsiders Compete In Eugene Marathon
Eugene Oregon, April 29— The Eastside Track Club was well represented at the inaugural Eugene Marathon. Kelsey Jones and Chris Anton ran the marathon, while Andrija Barker-McCurry ran in the 5k. Chris ran a strong race to finish 45th over all and was the 38th male finisher in 2:53:16, which was a 14 minute personal best. In the women’s race Kelsey had an off day after getting pulled out too fast by an over anxious pace setter; but still managed to finish 111th overall and was the 19th female in 3:10:17. In the 5k run Andrija Barker-McCurry was the 4th female finisher with a big pr of 18:06. Eastsider Pat McCurry was also involved in the race as he helped to pace the elite group in the marathon. He paced 14 miles and took the leaders through halfway right on pace for the Olympic Trials A qualifier.
Two members of the Eastside Track Club also competed in the Boise State Twilight meet on Friday night. Rusty McRea finished 4th in the 1500m in 4:01.55. Andrija Barker-McCurry also ran the 1500m finishing 7th in 4:55.83. |

Three Eastsiders Compete At NNU Invitational
Nampa Idaho, September 8— Kelsey Jones, Andrija Barker-McCurry, and Brian Crowl competed at the Northwest Nazarene Invitational cross country meet. In the women’s race Jones and Barker-McCurry finished 3rd and 4th respectively covering the 4k course in 14:24 and 14:27. In the men’s race Brian Crowl ran the 6k course in 20:29 and finished 24th. |

Jones 2nd, Barker-McCurry 3rd At Women’s Fitness Celebration
Boise Idaho, September 22— Eastsiders Kelsey Jones and Andrija Barker-McCurry competed in the elite field of the Women’s Fitness Celebration 5k in Boise. Jones and Barker-McCurry both ran personal bests to finish 2nd and 3rd respectively. Jones clocked 17:36.6 for the 5k course, while Barker-McCurry was close behind at 17:37.0. The race awarded prize money for the top 5 spots; they picked up $500 and $300 respectively for their efforts. |

Five Eastsiders Compete in Willamette Invitational
Salem Oregon, September 29— The Eastside Track Club had a small group compete at the Willamette Invitational, but got good results with 3 top 20 performances. In the women’s race new club member Jen Puzey raced well moving through the pack after the first mile to finish 5th in 17:37. Shannon Edwards was close behind Puzey finishing 18th with a cross country personal best of 18:09. In men’s race Sean Williams finished 15th covering the 8k course in 24:35. It was a 6 second personal best and the third straight year he has been a top 20 finisher at this race. After getting a late start to the race due to a quick gun Jake Puzey got stuck in the back and had to work through the pack to finish 74th in 25:57. Ben Gall also competed in the race finishing 111th in 26:35. |

Eastside Women Win USATF Snake River Association Road Championships
Boise Idaho, October 6— Eastsiders Kelsey Jones, Andrija Barker-McCurry, and Shannon Edwards swept the top spots at the USATF Snake River Association Road Championships over the weekend. They recorded a perfect score to win the championship, as the race was scored through 3 runners. Kelsey Jones was the first female finisher in 28:42 with Barker-McCurry and Edwards close behind in 28:55 and 29:16 respectively. Three members of the men’s team also competed in the race. Andy Peters was 5th in 25:41, Ben Gall was 6th in 25:49, and Chris Anton was 8th in 29:07. Anton was also the first masters finisher in the race.

Eastsiders Cash In At Meridian Gold Run In Reno
Reno Nevada, October 14— Eastsiders Kelsey Jones, Andrija Barker-McCurry, Pat McCurry, and Tim Riley journeyed to Reno to compete in the 2007 Meridian Gold Run For Education and came away with $1,200 in prize money. Jones dominated the women’s 10k run, winning by more than 30 seconds in 38:12. She picked up $600 for the win, and just missed the course record and another $500. In the women’s 5k Barker-McCurry finished 3rd in 18:18, after letting the top 2 finishers go early and was unable to cover the move. In the men’s 5k Pat McCurry and Tim Riley finished 2nd and 3rd respectively, earning $300 and $150. McCurry and the eventual winner broke away from the pack early, while Riley used a strong move at 2 miles to secure the third spot. McCurry finished in 15:41, while Riley finished in 15:53. |
